Oh Yes We Can "Stamp on tiles with CTMH inks"

Tiles, tiles and more tiles

My granddaughter wanted to try making some coasters using alcohol inks.  While I was recovering from a broken ankle and non-weight bearing, I was stir crazy and Megan's visits were a welcome. One day she shows up with some tiles and the fun began.  Being the Curious Crafter that I am, we tried alcohol inks, stencils, stamps, Stazon ink, scrapbook paper and CTMH exclusive Inks.

We had many surprises, goof ups, messes and lots of fun.  So I will share with you what finally worked with the Close to my Heart Exclusive inks. I had just received an order from CTMH and fell in love with the Perfectly Pine stamp set.  So here is what I did that worked for me.
  1. Clean tiles with alcohol and dry.
  2. Mix Mod Podge and white paint (about a 50/50 mix)
  3. Apply to tiles with a foam brush. Let dry about 1 to 2 hrs.  Apply 2 coats
  4. Choose your stamps and inks.  I used the Misty stamping tool to stamp. I'm sure you could just use a block.  The Misty lets you stamp twice if you need to.
  5. Let dry for 12 hrs.
  6. Apply 2 coats of Mod Podge, allow to dry completely between coats.
  7. Place on an old baking pan lined with foil and put into a cold oven.  Set oven to 250 and bake 30 to 45 mins. Turn oven off and allow tiles to cool in the oven.
  8. In a well ventilated area spray with a protective sealer. I used Minwax Polycrylic clear satin. Let dry and add 2 more coats. If you are not using for coasters you could just do 2 coats.

I was a little impatient and mine smeared a little. You should wait until inks drys between stamping each color. You could use your heat gun to help with drying. I found it best to just let it dry and then add your next color.

I hope this helps you guys. If you enjoyed this post please like and share.  All comments are welcome.  Stay Curious my Crafty friends!

Pretty Fall Wreath

I love Fall as you may know and I'm usually behind. So what am I going to do with all these things?  Everything on this table I already lets see what happens.
This water hose was green, I had made a wreath for July 4th and my daughters said "Mom, that's ugly  (what's with the water hose?) So I spray painted it with some off white paint.  I used zip ties to hook the hose together and form a wreath shape.  Then I searched through my fall stuff and found some things that I liked and started placing them on the hose.  I found this cute ribbon, I love Owls!
After adding all my fall goodies, this is what I ended up with. I love it! Even my daughters liked it .

Happy Fall Y'all  !
